Hello Dance Teacher Friends!
Welcome to Dance to Learn® My name is Jessica Strong, I am the Creative Director and Owner and I am so excited that you are here! My passion in life is Dance Education! I love sharing the knowledge I've learned over the last 20 years as a retired ballerina, dance teacher and studio owner! Dance to Learn® has been the primary curriculum for my in-school dance program, Dance Exploration for 12 years. As a mobile dance teacher with schools as my primary clients, my goal was to create a curriculum that was EDUCATIONAL first. I knew that I wanted my curriculum to stand out. Recreational dance programs can be found in dance studios across America. Therefore I knew I wanted something different and unique designed and rooted in education and focused on what my students were learning in school. Second, I wanted my curriculum to be ENGAGING. I wanted to create a multi-sensory educational dance curriculum that captivated the whole child by providing multiple sensory opportunities designed for all 4 primary learning types. Lastly I wanted a curriculum that was ENRICHING and involved parents and caregivers outside of the studio to encourage continued learning at home.

The Whole Child Approach to Dance Education teaches conceptual dance elements through the use of themes and kid-friendly imagery.

Enriched
Dance Curriculum focused on the Whole Child should provide multi-sensory experiences to captivate learner's of multiple learning types and styles.
Emotionally
Engaging
Dance as an art form can be used to create feelings and emotions both as an observer and performer. Whole Child Dance Education builds emotional pathways to connect the art to our dancer's own experiences.
Community Centered
As much as dance can be emotionally stimulating, it is also a social activity. Whole Child Dance Education is Community Centered and helps dancers build meaningful relationships through dance exploration.
Developmentally Appropriate
A Whole Child Dance Education is Developmentally Appropriate and focused on the child's Cognitive, Social, Emotional, Creative and Physical learning milestones.
Creative Exploration
A Whole Child Dance Education allows students the opportunity to create without being led or influenced by a dance instructor. Opportunities for Creative Exploration are imperative to engagement and retention.
Systemized
Classroom Routines
Dance Classes should follow a Systemized Classroom Routine to promote safety, security and a clear guideline of expectations. Routines help ease anxiety in the classroom as children know what to expect and creates smoother transitions.
Family
Engagement
A Whole Child Dance Education requires learning outside of the classroom. A strong Family Engagement program that encourages at home opportunities for exploration improves retention of knowledge, improved performance, and increased longevity.

Meet Jessica!
Hello Dance Teacher Friends! After 30 years in the dance industry, I have created the Whole-Child Approach to Dance Education to provide dance teachers and studio owners with a Preschool Dance Curriculum that has been rooted in research and grounded with evidentiary success.
As I worked as a performing professional ballerina, I also managed and grew Colorado's premiere in-school Dance Program: Dance Exploration. I created the Dance to Learn® Curriculum for children in-school settings. The Curriculum has been developed with the child in mind - and focused on how children learn, both in and out of the classroom.
The Dance to Learn® Curriculum has been shared with thousands of children in schools, dance studios, recreation centers and homes for 15 years. The Whole-Child Approach to Dance Education is trusted with Educators, Parents and Dance Industry Professionals nationwide.

Dance to Learn® Creative Dance
The Dance to Learn® Creative Dance Program is ideal for boys and girls ages 3-5. The program follows the 8 Principles of the Whole-Child Approach to Dance Education. Each Conceptualized-Thematic lesson plan introduces a dance concept or principle using kid-friendly themes, props and music! Does the Dance to Learn® Membership provide me with a Teaching Certification? A: No - The Dance to Learn® Membership is not a certificate in dance education. You receive access to our library of Whole-Child Dance Education lesson plans that can be taught by you in your dance studio, classroom or community center.
How long is Dance to Learn® Membership? A: The Dance to Learn® Membership can be purchased on a monthly schedule (with payment automatically renewed each month) or annually (a payment automatically renewed once a year). Members that pay annually save 15% on their membership package.
Is there a Contract? A: No - You can cancel at any time. Monthly Members who cancel, will lose access to their membership materials on their next billing cycle date. Annual Members will lose access to their membership materials on their annual renewal date.
